EVERYBODY’S OMA

EVERYBODY’S OMA is centred around a family dealing with a mother who has Alzheimer’s disease. The director, Jason Van Gendaren is the son who has documented this amazing story. Many people are effected with this terrible disease or have loved ones they know gone or going through ‘the long goodbye’ journey. This film will touch the hearts of many people globally. The producers and director did an amazing job. I don’t think there’s a single person who will watch this film and not deeply contemplate their lives and their relationships with their loved ones.

THE INVISIBLE MAN

It’s a great feeling working with the Goalpost Pictures team again, and an even greater feeling when the film is number one with the biggest opening weekend for an Australian film in the last 3 years. A must see, on the edge of your seat film. Elizabeth Moss is brilliant and accompanied by an outstanding music score.

I AM WOMAN

A huge delight to be working on this very special film with Unjoo Moon and the Goal Post people. This is my fifth Rosemary Blight film. What an amazing collection of songs from Delta Dawn, Angie Baby to Leave Me Alone and of course, I Am Woman. We’re searching deep on the music of the time. Helen’s 21 as she arrives in NYC. It’s 1966 and the music scene is buzzing with new sounds, but is it Helen’s sound? Can she breakthrough the male corporate industry world? Follow her journey and the music.

Directed by Unjoo Moon

WOLF CREEK 2

If you thought the first film was scary, wait until you see this one! Reading the script in the outback may not have been a wise decision. Mick Taylor is back, and he’s still not a very nice person! This is the first time that I’ve worked with the lovely Helen Leake (producer), Steve Topic (producer) and Greg McLean (writer/director).

THE SAPPHIRES

It was wonderful working with Rose & Kylie of Goalpost Pictures, Bryon Jones, whom I’ve known for many years, and the very talented director, Wayne Blair. These kind of films don’t come around often, so when I was enlisted as the music supervisor, I felt truly honoured. I researched oodles of songs and cleared 20-plus Motown classics – so you can imagine the magical journey my ears went on!

Set in 1968, THE SAPPHIRES is about 4 young Aboriginal women: Sisters Cynthia, Julie, Gail and their cousin Kay, who are discovered at a talent contest by Dave, a young English talent scout, who has a great love and knowledge of soul music.

Based on a true story, The Sapphires is a triumphant celebration of self-discovery, family and music!

The film went on to be a huge box office success, picking up numerous awards and screening globally. In the early months it was selected as part of the official selection at the 2012 Cannes Film. It was the only Australian feature film selected for 2012 and it received a special gala screening. The precedents are good: both Strictly Ballroom and The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert premiered in out of competition gala screenings at Cannes in 1992 and 1994 respectively. and then the awards just kept coming, including a No#1 soundtrack (3 times platinum).

HARROW

Harrow tells the story of Dr. Daniel Harrow, a forensic pathologist with a total disregard for authority.

It was a pleasure working with Nathan Mayfield, Livia Hanich and the Harrow crew in 2019. Enjoy all 10 episodes in season 2. And listen up for some very cool music!

CARLOTTA

How many working class Balmain boys grow up to be showgirls? Not just any showgirl but a household name: a legend of Kings Cross, a daytime TV star, and a symbol of generational change. While we all know her face, few of us have heard the real story of Australia’s most famous transsexual. Until now. Long before Australians knew what a transsexual was, Carlotta was pushing the boundaries of gender and sexuality. She was an ambassador for rebellion, freedom, and self-expression: a living, breathing symbol of emerging 60s liberalism. She was the legend of Les Girls.

It’s a delight to be working with the Glitter Pictures team – Riccardo, Samantha and Lara on this production. It’s full of nostalgic ’60s gems.

LOVE IN BRIGHT LANDSCAPES

Love In Bright Landscapes is the story of David McComb from The Triffids. A gifted singer/songwriter extraordinaire. Inspired by Punk, Dylan, Bowie, Cohen and The Velvet Underground, David wrote from the heart about his childhood in Western Australia, dark love stories and the outback landscape. All this inspiration somehow connected with the UK music scene in the mid ’80s. This film is a beautiful insight to an artist that sadly left us far too young.

JACK IRISH

It’s always a pleasure working with the Essential Media team, and when they hired me for JACK IRISH, I jumped at it! I researched some wonderful songs, and we ended up with a great soundtrack from Nick Cave’s RED RIGHT HAND, Kamahl’s version of ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT; that classic Nat King Cole track, THE VERY THOUGHT OF YOU; to THE FITZROY FOOTBALL CLUB theme!

JACK IRISH is a two-part 90 minute ABC television series. I had a lot of fun clearing songs for this production. Guy Pearce took on the role of Jack Irish – a former criminal lawyer now part-time private investigator and debt collector. Jack Irish: Bad Debts and Jack Irish: Black Tide are based on Peter Temple’s award-winning novels.

Jack Irish is an expert at finding people who don’t want to be found and discovering people’s darkest secrets, while fighting his own demons. Screenwriters, Andrew Knight and Matt Cameron (SeaChange) have adapted Temple’s novels for the telemovies and Jeffrey Walker (Rake, Angry Boys and Small Time Gangster) have directed both.

FELONY

I’m delighted to be working with Rose Blight and the team again at Goalpost Pictures on the new Joel Edgerton thriller movie, FELONY, directed by Matthew Saville (Noise).

Driving home after a celebratory drink with his team after the long awaited bust of a major gang, a decorated police officer (Joel Edgerton) runs a young cyclist off the road. As he gives CPR to the child, fellow officers arrive to take his statement. In a split second decision he tells them a lie about the accident which will change all their lives in this edge-of-your-seat thriller.

“Felony” follows three male detectives as they become embroiled in a tense struggle after a tragic accident, which leaves a small child in a coma. One is guilty; one will try and cover it; and the other will attempt to expose it. The tragedy sends the three men on a thrilling ride where they discover that the road to forgiveness is unforgiving and complex.

HOLDING THE MAN

It’s lovely to be working with the Goalpost Pic gang again on this remarkable true story. Set in the ’70s and ’80s, this is a love story during the sadness of the AIDs crisis based on the award winning book and stage play. The music plays a very important role throughout the film from the lovers first meeting in the ’70s at an all-boys Melbourne school to the wild Sydney gay scene of the ’80s.
